Hieronymous Bosch

my composition entitled 'Heironymous Bosch'. Bosch was my 1st favorite painter ...I discovered him when I was in High School. Originally written in 1972 I added what is now the chorus in 2000. This version features Julia Wu on flute and myself on piano & soprano saxophone.

Encounter

a story of a woman & a man who discover each other for only a brief moment, only to part and never see one another again. I used the exquisite paintings of August Macke to attempt to express my storyline ...however my intent is to have an original painting created to follow the characters into more emotional detail as their parallel journeys express the search for connection that has escaped their lives.

just a quick take on this tune. I had to re-edit the track for one of my students so this take ended up playing w/o the track. Ha! thought it might be interesting anyway.

Shards

...nothin' like rolling out of bed and playing a rough version of a new piece. I'm actually re-writing this piece for harp. a huge challenge as this piece has some atonality which (mostly) harp cannot reproduce. I'm determined to rewrite it for harp however ...as I am completely entranced by the beauty of that instrument. come back and visit for the harp version.
